Progressive Care Visitation

This update is to inform you that Willis-Knighton Progressive Care Center is now welcoming families and friends back to visit in patient rooms. Scheduled appointments and time limits are no longer required for visitations. Visitors are still required to be screened upon entry and we ask that each visitor continue to log in and out on the Visitor Log at the front desk. Visitors are advised to go directly to the resident’s room or designated visitation area. Masks are still required, and social distancing is encouraged.

Progressive Care Center is experiencing an outbreak of Covid cases. Those affected are being quarantined and are doing well at this time.

We are asking if visitors are not feeling well to please reframe from visiting your loved ones until you are feeling better and to be aware that masking is not in full effect, and everyone will be asked to mask when entering the facility.

We have continued to follow protocol and hopeful this outbreak will remain contained for the ten-day quarantine duration. As always, the staff at PCC is available to answer any questions or address any concerns you may have concerning your loved ones.

PCC had an employee test positive for Covid on March 3, 2023. We will continue to test all employees and residents for the next two weeks and will continue if another positive result is discovered.

Progressive Care Center had an employee test positive for Covid this evening. This employee was not at work at the time. We continue to test employees weekly and will begin testing residents as well beginning Monday, February 27,2023.

Progressive Care Center has identified four residents with new Covid cases over the holiday weekend. Today two more employees tested positive and remain on leave until cleared to return.

We are having the facility sterilized once again and asking everyone who is not feeling well to reframe from visiting. Masks are mandated. Weekly testing of all residents and employees continues until further notice.

PCC has confirmed one more employee Covid positive case. The facility has been sterilized with a professional company today. Once again, we ask that all visitors wear masks in public areas and reframe from visiting if you feel bad in anyway. We continue weekly testing until further notice.

Progressive Care Center had two more employees test positive for Covid yesterday. Neither has had direct contact with residents.

Progressive Care Center had an employee test positive on Friday, December 23rd. This employee has had no direct patient care however, we will be testing all employees and residents for the next few weeks to monitor this situation.

We ask that if you are visiting that you reframe if you are not feeling well. Masks are once again mandated to be worn inside the facility by staff and all visitors.

Progressive Care Center had a residnet test positive on August 9, 2022. We have also had an employee test positive today as well.

We ask that if you have been exposed to Covid or do not feel well to NOT come visit your loved ones. The staff would appreciate this as well as our residents and we will be more than happy to update you on the phone the status of your loved one while you quarantine from the facility.

PCC had an agency nurse test positive this morning. The facility is currently being sprayed and sanitized for infection control purposes.

PCC performed a rapid Covid test on an agency employee and it was positive today. All residents and employees were also given a PCR Covid test today due to Outbreak testing and parish positivity rate. We continue to follow all CDC/LDH guidelines and ask that if you are coming to visit a loved one that you reframe if you are not feeling well. Masks must be worn while inside the facility.

PCC has identified two residents who tested positive for Covid on Monday, July 11th. In addition, this morning four employees tested positive.

Since our last update PCC had an employee test positive on 7/6/22.

We have identified 3 more employees from the routine testing on 7/8/22 and one employee currently getting a confirmation test from a positive rapid done this morning.

We continue to sanitize the building and exercise CDC guidelines. Again, we ask ALL visitors to reframe from visiting if they feel bad on any level. Masks are not an option when entering the facility. Those not abiding by this guideline will be asked to put a mask back on while visiting.

Progressive Care Center has identified three more people today who tested positive for covid. Two are employees and one is a resident. Currently everyone who has recently tested positive is stable and doing well. The facility will be sterilized again today.

A second resident has become symptomatic and tested positive this morning.

The facility was treated and sterilized this weekend and continue to sanitize several times a day.

We ask that all visitors reframe from visiting if they are not feeling well and masks must be worn while visiting.

Today's weekly testing identified 2 more employees testing positive as well as 3 more residents. All are doing well with no current issues.

We continue to screen visitors and employees when they enter the facility. You will be kindly reminded to place your mask on properly if it is taken off.

PCC identified a resident who was Covid positive today.

Testing will continue for all staff and residents.

Tuesday PCC had a resident test positive for Covid. All staff not fully vaccinated will be tested twice a week while the parish transmission rate is in red, and all residents will continue to be tested for at least two more weeks providing there are no more new cases of Covid. We continue to follow CDC guidelines.

Progressive Care Center had an employee test positive from the weekly Covid testing. All residents were tested as well, and none were identified as being positive. We continue to test everyone weekly.

Progressive Care Center had two employees test positive on Friday, June 17th. There was also a resident who tested positive as well. We are continuing our efforts to follow all guidelines set forth by the State of Louisiana and the CDC.

Progressive Care Center tested on Friday the 19th. We identified one employee who is non direct care staff member who tested positive and one resident who also tested positive.

PCC tested a symptomatic resident today and got a positive result. This resident has been transported to the hospital.

At this time no other person inside the facility is exhibiting symptoms but the staff will continue to monitor the residents.

PCC identified three employees who tested positive for Covid 19 today. We have begun testing all employees and residents and no one else today was identified.

We will test everyone for two weeks after today to ensure we have no more cases. If so, we will test two weeks after each new case if needed.

We will continue to offer visitation but we ask anyone who comes to visit is well and if you have ANY signs or symptoms of Covid or the flu that you do not visit. ALL visitors will continue to screen before visiting loved ones and if any symptoms are present you will be asked to leave the facility. This is for the well being for all of our residents and staff. MASKS are to be worn at all times in the public areas.

Progressive Care Center has identified one employee who was positive for COVID 19 this past Friday, November 12, 2021. This employee is asymptomatic, was exposed outside this facility, and had no direct patient contact.

However, due to current guidelines visitation will have to be shut down for a week pending all staff and residents' results this week.

This past Friday, August 27th, PCC identified one employee who was positive for COVID 19. This employee has mild symptoms and has no direct patient contact. Because of this visitation will not be affected at this time.

This past Friday, August 20th, PCC identified one employee who was positive for COVID 19. This employee had mild symptoms and had no direct patient contact. Progressive Care Center did weekly testing on Friday, July 23rd and results have identified two employees (both asymptomatic) and one resident (also asymptomatic) to be positive for COVID-19.

None of these people remain in the building and the entire facility was treated by DKI and sanitized this morning. All other measures remain in place and all precautions are taking place to ensure this outbreak is contained. Weekly testing will reside for everyone at PCC for an additional two weeks pending any new cases. Visitation will be restricted even further on the units affected with new cases pending new cases as well.

PCC will test ALL staff and residents weekly until further notice. ALL measures have and will continue to be taken to follow LDH guidelines and ensuring the safety of all those who work and live at Progressive Care Center.

Progressive Care Center has had a PRN employee test positive for COVID today. Last day worked was this past Monday and had little contact with residents. PCC will test all staff and residents weekly for at least the next two weeks. All measures have and will continue to be taken to follow LDH guidelines and ensuring the safety of all those who work and live at Progressive Care Center.

Progressive Care Center's residents and staff were tested again on Friday, May 28 ,2021. All residents were negative however, two employees tested positive. PCC will continue to be tested weekly. Progressive Care Center's residents and staff were tested again on Friday, May 21, 2021. All residents were negative however, two employees tested positive. One being an agency employee and the other was a PCC employee with no direct contact with residents. PCC will continue to be tested weekly. All measures have and will continue to be taken to follow LDH guidelines and ensuring the safety of all those who work and live at Progressive Care Center.

Progressive Care Center was made aware today that an employee of an agency company has tested positive for COVID19 today. This agency employee last worked at PCC last week. All staff and residents were tested Friday and all results were negative. We will test everyone again this Friday as well as the next few weeks after to ensure everyone remains healthy.

Progressive Care Center has had more COVID cases among our employees and residents since Friday the 5th. The total of positive tests to date for our PCC residents is 44.

The total number of employees is 36. We continue bi weekly testing of all staff and residents and our next testing will be Tuesday, February 9, 2021. The facility will have a professional company come and sanitize all areas that have been affected during this time. Employees will be in serviced again on proper infection control methods. The update on January 11, 2021 was updated with wrong numbers in error. To date the number of COVID positive residents is 36 since the beginning of this pandemic. The total number of employees is 34 positive COVID cases. Progressive Care is now testing staff and residents biweekly. Our testing this past Tuesday resulted in zero positive cases. Everyone will be tested again Friday, January 15th. We thank you for your support during this very trying time.

The total of positive tests to date for our PCC residents to 34. We continue with bi weekly testing of all staff and residents. At this time we have suspended all visitation until further notice and we have had the facility sanitized on several occasions and continue to wear masks, frequent hand washing and the proper PPE usage as needed.

The number of positive tests for employees is now at 20. We are awaiting more results and should have them shortly. If anything changes another update will be added. Progressive Care Center has been notified that one of our PRN agency employees has just tested positive for COVID 19 this week. The latest result brings the total of positive tests to date for our PCC residents to 12. The number of positive tests for employees is now at 18. We will continue with weekly testing of all staff and residents. Per LDH guidelines we will only have outdoor visitation until we can clear the guideline of COVID free weeks. Progressive Care Center has one more employee positive case of COVID 19 as of late Monday evening. The latest result brings the total of positive tests to date for our PCC residents to 12 since March of 2020. The number of positive tests for employees is now at 17 since March of 2020. We will continue with weekly testing of all staff and residents. Per LDH guidelines we will only have outdoor visitation until we can clear the guideline of COVID free weeks. Tuesday the 1st, PCC will have areas of our facility sterilized to ensure proper decontamination. Progressive Care Center has discovered another case of COVID-19 among our residents. We are currently waiting for more results among staff and residents as part of our weekly mandated testing. The latest result brings the total of positive tests to date for our PCC residents to 12 since March of 2020. The number of positive tests for employees is now at 16 since March of 2020. One person is a PRN employee who had limited exposure to residents last weekend the newest employee was tested this past Friday. The latest result brings the total of positive tests to date for our PCC residents to 10. The number of positive tests for employees is now at 14. We will continue with weekly testing of all staff and residents. Should we remain COVID free for two consecutive weeks we can stop testing residents. Per LDH guidelines we will only have outdoor visitation until we can clear the guideline of COVID free weeks. The number of positive tests for employees is now at 6. This employee is asymptomatic and has been sent home to self quarantine and will not return to work until cleared by Work Kare next week. The number of positive tests for employees is now at 5. Four of these employees have totally recovered and have returned to work. Today's discovery of this latest case is the first activity since late May of 2020. This employee is asymptomatic and has been sent home to self quarantine and will not return to work until cleared by Work Kare next week. None of the residents who have tested positive are currently staying at the facility at this time. The number of positive tests for employees remains unchanged at 3. As of May 19, 2020 the hall in which ALL of the cases were involved was sterilized by a professional company. We have had another positive COVID-19 test among our residents at Progressive Care Center. To date, we have had three employees and six residents test positive. All are now off campus. We continue to restrict visitors and non-essential personnel, practice social distancing, perform intensive sanitizing measures, provide appropriate personal protective equipment and daily monitor staff and residents for fever and illness.

In an effort to keep our families and residents informed with as much up to date information as possible we have experienced two additional residents and two employees who have tested positive for COVID-19 as today, May 3, 2020 at 2:00 am. Employees have been sent home with a set of guidelines to follow before they can return to work and both residents are undergoing more testing and are in stable condition.

Once again, we want everyone to know we are practicing preventative measures to try to minimize further exposure to staff and residents.

In an effort to keep our families and residents informed with as much up to date information as possible we have experienced our second and third cases of COVID-19 as of today, May 2, 2020. These two residents have been transferred to the hospital during this time. All families were notified this morning via phone calls and a letter will be sent on Monday, May 4, 2020.

Once again, we want everyone to know we are practicing preventative measures to try to minimize further exposure to staff and residents.

As this COVID-19 pandemic enters its third month and we've experienced our first positive COVID-19 test, we remain proactive in our fight against this virus, following CDC and Louisiana Health Department guidelines. To date, we have had one positive case at PCC (one resident). This person is currently not in our facility. We continue to restrict visitors and non-essential personnel, practice social distancing, perform intensive sanitizing measures, provide appropriate personal protective equipment and daily monitoring of our staff and residents for fever and other illness. We continue to update residents and staff through internal communication and have expanded communication via our webpage www.WKProgressiveCare.com. The health and well-being of our residents and staff is and always will be our No. 1 priority.
